You are required to create an account before posting. You may, however, read messages without registration. To take full advantage of the forums, you will need to have an account. It only takes a few seconds to register, and it is recommended you do so.

To create an account you will need to visit the Registration page and specify details like your login name and email address. Since you will most likely wish to post messages to the forum, please complete the optional forum information which allows you to create you own screen name and message signature. You may also provide additional information that you may want other users to know about you.

After successfully registering, visit the Sign In page and enter your username and password. You will then be logged in and allowed to post to the forums.

If you forget your password you can visit the Lost Password page and have a new password emailed to you. You will need to enter the email account that you registered with. You will be sent a new password since we store your password encrypted and have no way of retrieving the original value. Once you receive your new password you can login and go to the My Account page to change your password.

If you’ve registered and can’t login, check to ensure you have a valid username and password. If you are sure the username and password are valid, but still can’t may be on hold. In this case it is best to contact the board administrator(s) or moderator(s).

First check to ensure your username and password are correct. If you still can’t login your account may have been put on hold or deleted due to inactivity. Please contact the board administrator(s) or moderator(s).

A profile is information about your account that controls how you view information in the forums. This includes details about posts you’ve contributed to, personal information you wish to share such as your web address, as well as settings that control how you view the forums such as your time zone.

Once the forums knows what time zone you are in it will display the dates and time relative to your time zone.

A signature is a message that is appended to the end of any posts you make in the forums. You can edit your signature from the My Account page. This signature will then appear at the bottom of any messages posted by you.

An avatar is a feature of the forums which allows for an image to be displayed next to your screen name with your posts. Avatars may be enabled or disabled by the forum administrator.

If avatars are enabled by the administrator you will see and avatar section when viewing My Account. From here you can complete the form to name the avatar you wish to use, either uploading an avatar or specifying a URL to your avatar.

Requiring a login before posting to the forums limits the amount of off topic and/or abusive content in the forum and allows the administrator to deny posting to users who do so. Requiring a login to view member profiles protects the privacy of users who have shared their information.

Once logged in you can change your password from the My Account page. Enter and confirm a new password using the input boxes provided.

To change your username login using your original email address and password. Once logged in you can change your login email address from the My Account page. Enter and confirm a new email address using the input box provided.

The only profile setting that is required is your screen name. This is the name that will be displayed next to your forum posts.

A Forum Group is a top level grouping of related forums. A forum group contains 1 or more forums.

A Forum is a grouping of related topics of discussion. A Forum contains 0 or more topics.

A Topic is a grouping of related posts. A Topic contains 1 or more Posts (Messages). The first post becomes the Topic and replies to the original post increment details on the Topic, such as the reply count or last post.

A forum may not display any topics if there are no topics in the forum.

Yes and no. You cannot type HTML directly into the editor. If you are using Internet Explorer the default editor for creating new posts will be a Rich Text Editor that will automatically format posts using HTML. If you post with a browser other than Internet Explorer a standard HTML textbox is used.

Yes, up to 10 Mb. You may also provide links to attachments.

Emoticons are graphical elements that can be added within the body of a post to add emotions to the post. Common examples are the use of similes within the contents of a post. The forums come with a pre-defined set of emoticons, however the administrator can add additional ones.

You can post a new topic to a forum by clicking the “New Topic” button while viewing a forum. Clicking on this will either take you to a form which will allow you to post a message or will ask you to login first.

You can reply to an existing post using either the Reply or Quote buttons displayed with the post.

You may edit a message that you have posted by returning to the message in the topic and selecting the edit link below your user information.

You may not delete your message once it is submitted. If you must delete the message, contact the administrator or moderator and request that they delete the message for you.
